Strategically located half way between the East Dundee Plant to the East and the Foster Road Plant to the West, in Kane County along the Huntley-Algonquin Road, this Pit has only begun to produce. Although owned and seasonally operated for nearly 20 year as a “borrow pit” location in years past, a major effort was undertaken in 2006 to erect a full scale processing plant complete with a wash plant and a dry crushing plant. Three fourths of the location’s reserves remain untouched and this location is merely waiting for the right projects to crop up in the neighborhood. Square Barn Road Pit was designed to provide construction aggregates to Ready Mixed Concrete and Hot Mixed Asphalt plants in the area as well as clean structural fill for area road projects.
